CDL Class A Truck Driver

Summary

CDL Class A Drivers are responsible for performing the duties necessary for transporting products to customers, heavy equipment operation during the process of loading and dis- charging concrete, assuring product meets company needs, and when necessary being a customer service representative for the company and industry.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

Maintains the highest standard of quality and safety in all aspects of the job.

As a driver/operator you will operate a dump truck in the timely transportation of asphalt to and from destinations.

Load, unload and secure as needed.

Maintain radio contact with dispatch for scheduling changes.

When a driver returns from a delivery, he/she is required to wash down the truck, to clean off excess asphalt on the truck.

Prepare, receive and provide appropriate documentation.

Attendance required according to company attendance policy to ensure crew is able to operate at normal efficiency level.

Attitude/Cooperation: Must always maintain a courteous and professional manner with co-workers, customers, public.

Ability to be flexible with last minute schedule changes, location changes, time of shift changes. Overtime work required. Out of town/county/state work may be required.

It should be noted that all of our trucks are routinely maintained and inspected daily for any problems or potential problems.

This is a physically demanding position and requires the ability to lift up to 50 pounds, several times per day

Must pass drug test and criminal background check.

Minimum Experience: 3 years

Education and/or Experience

High school diploma or general education degree (GED) is preferred.

Language Skills

Must be able to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence, and memos as well as communicate this information with other crew members in English.

Mathematical Skills

Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals.

Reasoning Ability

Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out detailed, but uninvolved written or oral instructions as well as the ability to works well with others.

Specific vision abilities required by this job include: close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, and depth perception.
